Steps to make to make Chana Masala
- Firstly wash the chana and soak them overnight. Next day boil it along with the potato pieces by adding turmeric powder and salt. Keep this aside.
- Now let's come to masala preparation. Heat a pan. Add some oil. Then add all the khada masalas, mentioned above. Now let them splutter. Then add grated onion & ginger-garlic paste. Fry it for about 2 mins. Then add tomatoes into it. Fry them for about 2 more mins.
- Then add dried masalas into it, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt & sugar. Mix everything well and fry the masalas on a low flame, until oil starts releasing from the pan.
- Then add chopped mint leaves and give it a good mix. Now add the boiled chana-potato mixture into it. Now combine it well with the masalas.
- Now cover the pan and cook it for about 2 mins on a low flame. Then add kasuri methi to it. Mix it and again cook it for about 5 mins. Finally add some chopped coriander and mix it.
- Now switch off the flame. Garnish it with some more chopped coriander and serve it hot with some rice or puris.
