- For black masoor daal :
- 1.5 cups Black masoor daal
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/3 cup Tamarind pulp
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 green chilli
- 2 cup Coriander n mint leaves
- 3 Garlic sliced
- For moong masoor daal:
- 1/2 cup Moong daal
- 3/4 cup Orange Masoor daal
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 green chilli
- 2 tbsp Coriander
- For rice:
- 2 cups rice
- 4 cups water
- 1.5 tbsp salt
- 1/4 cup sliced onion
- Kachoomar salad:
- 1 Onion
- 1 cucumber
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tomato
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 Lemon juice
- For fish:
- 1/2 kg Red snapper
- 1.5 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli flakes
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp ajwain
- 3 tbsp Lemon
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Steps to make to make Daal chawal
- For black masoor daal: saok daal for 15 mins.in a pot,add soaked daal,water,turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, cumin, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- Bring it to boil,cover partially and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes or until tender.in the end add tamarind pulp, green chilli, coriander and mint leaves.
- Prepare Tarka:
In a heating pan add ghee and sliced garlic.fry until golden brown. - For moong masoor daal: In a pot add both daals, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.mix well
- Bring it to boil.cover and cook on medium flame until tender.
- Prepare tarka: in a heating pan add ghee amd onion.fry until golden brown.
- For kachoomar salad: chop onion, cumcumber, tomato, green chilli and coriander.add them in a bowl,sprinkle salt and add lemon juice.mix well
- For rice: in a pot add 3 tbp oil and 1/4 cup sliced onion.fry until it starts to turn golden brown.
- Now add water and salt.when the salt is dissolved add rice and cook on high flame until water dries out.
- Now put on dum. cover and cook on low flame until rice are done.
- For fish: marinate fish with the above-mentioned ingredients.
- Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown and done.
